kenwood car stereo specifications
Question by AvidCheeseEnjoyer: What to look for in a car deck (stereo receiver/cd player)?
Right now I’m in Ford Fusion, I have a double-din head unit installed up to my stock speakers which I believe totals six speakers (including the two tweeters/ four door speakers).
Soon I will be replacing the DD head unit with a single-din cd deck that can power two 12inch JL W3 Subwoofers, two 1000W Kenwood amps with a capacitor. Because I have two decent pioneer 6 X 9 speakers, I would also like to integrate these into my car at some point.
With all that being said, what are some key things to look for in a cd deck? I’m not necessarily looking for actual models ( if you have some in mind, that’s always a plus!), rather specifications or features I should be looking for. Also, I do not want to spend a fortune on the deck either. The small knowledge I have been told is a 9 unit ‘generally’ will do me fine.
I’m not sure if all the information I gave up is enough or if half of it even matters. But I do hope the information is plenty for now.
Thanks

That really sucks that you are working on a budget because there are so many deals on double dins… I have a neon, so I cant fit one
And I wouldnt run 2 kenwood amps on those subs, or less you already have them or whatever. Would be much more efficient to just run one stronger amp. But thats besides the fact… As for a deck… I would look at pioneer as your best bet… They are some of my favorite decks besides alpine and really have a lot of excellent features for a low cost. You are gonna want to get one that has 3 sets of pre outs, just in case you choose to run a 4 channel amp. And if you wanna run an ipod or some form of usb interface, I would definitley go with one that has usb integration, it works pretty well… I would go with the pioneer deh-p4100ub…
